Dathan Sale

Dathan Sale: Debut: 2007

Sale followed his younger brother Damian into the Offley ranks in 2007. Undoubtedly the owner of the most impressive mullet and arguably one of the more underrated batsmen in the squad, Sale has shown the ability to blossom once he gets past his customary self-destruct mark of 5. Unfortunately he has yet to show the consistency with the bat to regularly take him past that magic number and has shown a disappointing propensity to perish in the early stages of his innings, especially when forced into opening the batting or being required to run with Matthew Freeman.

He came within an ace of scoring his maiden half-century for the club this season but for reasons best known only to himself, Sale passed up Darrell Cooper’s best efforts to get him the crucial single and settled for registering an unbeaten 49. Presumably he has faith that the landmark will be reached next season.
