Benidorm 2015 Tour |
All players must play in proper white cricket clothing.
No spikes to be worn as matches will be played on an artificial pitch.
Accommodation
We are staying very central to the nightlife in Levante Beach in one bedroom apartments.
There is a £60 per room deposit for group stays which you get back at the end unless of course you throw the TV out of the window! The apartments are rated at over 60% and in the top 25 hotels on tripadvisor so should be decent!!
Travelling Arrangements
EasyJet are flying us from Gatwick at 06:25 on Thursday 19th February 2015.
Return flight is on the Monday lunchtime.
It would have been pointless (and more expensive) to have a suitcase each so non-cricketers have only hand luggage and cricketers will be splitting a suitcase (or cricket bag) between two/three people. Grouping for shared bags are below;
Tatts, Davison
Smith, Munt
Lunney, Kieran, Harrison
Goord, Matty Taylor
Kempston, Stone & Hook
Keeley, Laidler
Roommates

Laidler, Munty & Mark Smith

The Crèche
Harrison, Goord & Stone Boy

Battle of the Bands – Sat 22nd Feb
This years tour theme nights is ‘Battle of the Bands’. The tour group has been split into groups (shown below).
Each group will need to decide upon a well known Band to dress up as and possibly perform as on the night. The idea is to keep your band a secret from the rest only to be revealed on the day in the hotel bar!! Get creative and get rehearsing . . . . . . .
Laidler, Munty, Goord & Mark Smith
Tatts & Garry Davison
Souster, Clough, Adam Smith & Latino
Lunney, Geoff, Bob, Cliff Large & Kieran
Stone Boy, James Kempton, Josh Hook, Harrison (S Club Juniors)
Keeley, Bexfield & Matty Taylor
One of the tour party is also having his stag do at the same time. This poor creature will find out who he is to be on the night - Matty Freeman.
Fines Committee
Following the runaway success of the Club Court during recent tours (drinking together at midday at least guaranteed somewhere would be open), the fines committee will again be in session in the hotel bar prior to each match.
His Lord Justice Tatts and his deputies will rule on any particular instances of incompetence, ineptitude and outstanding crassness. The procedure will be the same as always. Charges can be brought by anyone against anyone. Any spurious claims may result in the accuser themselves being fined for wasting the courts time. Any player found guilty by the incorruptible Mr Justice Tattersall will have the option of paying the 1 Euro fine or appealing against his sentence and risk having the fine doubled in the event of a failed plea to his High Lord Justice Davidson
Weather
In the unlikely event of heavy and prolonged rain and cancellation of fixtures, players are encouraged to drink heavily and irresponsibly. Be warned, the disastrous rain wrecked tour to Torquay in 1999 showed that a great deal of money is required and a spare liver. But this time we have the delights of Benidorm and all its glorious 'Essex on tour' entertainments.
