Offley & Stoplsey CC 211-3 Vs Potters Bar IV's - 25th Aug
OSCC Won 149 runs
With Ickleford II's facing the tricky Luton Indians away, OSCC made sure to keep up the pressure on them with a comprehensive victory over Potters Bar IV's.
Skipper Bexfield lost the toss and so we were asked to bat. Richie Barker opened up with Nathan Brodie and immediatly got to work. Both batsmen started at a gallop and scored their runs at a rate of knots made all the more impressive by the long grass in the outfield. Nathan was the first to fall on 46 when playing round a delivery from Rowlands to score 20.
Chaudry joined Barker at the crease to put on a partnership 88 in 19 overs. Chaudry made sure to score the runs by playing a more reserved innings that his usual crash bang wallop efforts. He supported the big hitting Barker throughout, allowing him to make the big shots (7 4's and 2 6's). Richie got an exciting 72 before being clean bowled by Moore.
Cerasale then got to the crease, smashed the ball around alot (three straight sixes on the trot were a highlight) to bring OSCC to a declaration after 44 overs and the score on 211.
Colin Keeley and Rizwan opened up. Rizwan bowling with energy, fire and an injury got the breakthrough when bowling Moore. Keeley then weighed in with two wickets in an over. With the score on 13-3 and Keeley and Freeman bowling well the contest was over. However to gain the win OSCC had to bowl the opposition out. This was done so with surprising ease as the opposition simply folded before the onset of fine accurate bowling and a strong showing in the field.
Potters Bar were bowled out for 62 in 32 overs, giving OSCC a win by 149 runs. Meanwhile Ickleford II's were winning so keeping them 5 points clear in the table.
